Live from Phoenix International Airport. It was an oversold flight and I had a bad feeling about that. And guess what ? I was right ! No seat printed on my boarding pass so I had to get one at the boarding gate. They put my name on a waiting list and had to wait for last call to know if I could go onboard or not. 45 minutes later, I was looking at the plane leaving without me. I was quielty waiting for the flight attendant to tell me “Here is your ticket for next flight and a compensation from our company”. This is what she told me, but she started with “Oh, but I called you, why din’t you come ?”. To be honest, I had a doubt as I heard something that started like my name. It just sounded like “Gaz” so finally I thought it was not me… but it was. Now I have 3 additional hours to wait and a 200$ coupon I can use on any US Airways flight in the next 12 months – can I sell it on eBay ? Oh, by the way, I will miss “Caribou” (again) as they are playing live in Austin tonight. Looks like someone doesn’t want me to see them…

En direct de l’aéroport international de Phoenix. Le vol était surbooké et j’avais un mauvais pressentiment qui s’est avéré fondé. Je n’avais pas de place indiquée sur ma carte d’embarquement et j’ai du me présenter au guichet pour en obtenir une. Ils ont mis mon nom sur une liste d’attente et j’ai du attendre le dernier appel avant la fermeture des portes pour savoir si oui ou non, je partais sur ce vol. 45 minutes plus tard, je regardais mon avion partir sans moi. J’attendais gentiment que l’hôtesse m’appelle pour me donner un billet pour le prochain vol ainsi qu’un éventuel dédommagement. Elle l’a fait, mais elle a commencé par me dire « Mais je vous ai appelé, pourquoi vous n’êtes pas venu ? ». Franchement, j’ai eu un doute car j’ai bien entendu quelque chose qui ressemblait à mon nom. En fait, j’ai juste entedu « Gas » donc je me suis dit que ce n’était pas moi… mais c’était bien moi. Je me retrouve donc avec 3 heures d’attente et un bon d’achat de 200$ à valoir sur mon prochain vol avec US Airways – Je peux le revendre sur eBay ?Du coup, je vais (encore) rater « Caribou » qui est en concert ce soir a Austin. Je pense que c’est une conspiration…
